Why Do We Have Prophecy, Speaking in Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues in Our Worship?

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal… another prophecy; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of  tongues. Make love your aim, and earnestly desire the spiritual gift especially that you may prophesy….one who prophesies speak to men for the up-building, encouragement and consolidation.”( 1 Cor. 14:1-3 RSV)
“Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy, and greater is one who prophesies that one who speaks in tongues unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.” (1 Cor. 14:5)
“If anyone speaks in tongues, it should be by two or the most by three, and each one in turn, and let on interpret. Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.” (1 Cor. 14:27 NAS)

Why Do We Worship God An Offering?

Why Do We Audibly Praise God?

“Let all the people praise thee, O God, Let all the people Praise Thee.” (Psalm 67:3)
“Let everyone that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)
“By Him therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Why Are Musical Instruments A Part of the Worship Service?

“Praise Him with sound of the trumpet: Praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance. Praise Him with the stringed instruments and organs .Praise Him upon the loud cymbals. Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.” (Psalms 105:3-5)

Why Do We Stand To Sing?

“And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhtites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.”

Why Do We Lift Our Hands?

“Thus I bless thee while I live: I will lift up thy hands in Thy name.” ( Psalm 63:4)
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord.” (Psalm 134:2)

Why Do We Dance?

“Let them praise His name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and the harp.” (Psalm 149:3)
Praise Him with the Timbrel and dance…..” (Psalm 150:4)

Why Do We Pray and Sing In The Spirit?

“What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the Spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” (1 Cor. 14:15)
